What’s It Worth2022-06-08T10:56:27-04:00

What’s it worth?

You have a collection. What do you do now?
In every field there are experts who can determine the current value. As a PNG dealer we follow a strict
ethical process.(see Professional Numismatic Guild code of ethics) We have also been active in the
market since 1965 and have handled Millions of rare coins. See (About BRCG) to get the full story.
Once we examine the collection we will give a detailed evaluation. Many factors are involved and it’s our
job to factor in the market forces and calculate the present value. Medal prices, condition of the items,
rarity of the coins, current values based upon recent transactions and the ease to sell combine to
determine your collections worth. See blog (what is my collection worth?)
You have choices to make. We liquidate your collection in different ways, depending upon the extent of
the collection and value of key items. We will buy your collection for immediate cash payment. We may
recommend some items be graded by third party grading service before selling. Some collections or
individual items may be sold through our private treaty program. Here we offer the items to our clients
on your behave. For very rare items we will advise , handle and liquidate thru auction. These and other
options will be detailed upon completing our appraisal. (see Appraisal Page)

Should you Sell?

This is often the dilemma that heirs experience, whether it’s a house, antiques or collectables. I have
found that it is human nature to believe that what you hold is worth more than if you were to seek it out
to purchase. I usually get the response, ”Won’t it go up in value? If gold increases won’t I get more?
Should I hold it for my grandchildren?” These are all good questions that reside around present use of
funds versus future value. We are Numismatic experts and will provide present value of your collection.
Armed with these facts the decision to sell or hold should be less daunting.
Now that the value has been determined what you hold can be weighted against what you can do with
the cash. Cash can be easily distributed. Coins, Baseball cards, stamps, etc. become difficult to divide
equally into shares. Once you hold the asset it is harder to relinquish. To do so you must be confident in
the valuation. This is what our detailed appraisal provides.
