Description

All Massachusetts silvers are scarce. The willow tree is very rare  followed by the Oak Tree and then the Pine Tree. This Oak tree 2 pence is visually new with slightly off center striking. This two pence is the only Massachusetts silver coin dated 1662. Was it an error or was it chosen to commemorate the authorize the new denomination? Numismatists haven’t agreed but many lean toward the later.

A great addition to any colonial collection or Massachusetts silver set.
